English trends VS french stuff
I’ve got things to share with you, my dear friends. Since my arrival in London, I have been running all around the city, going up and down, east to west. And I discovered some great places I wanted to talk to you about.
The Royal Opera Arcade
I discovered this beautiful “passage”, when I applied for a sales assistant job in a shop called “Author” within the arcade. I didn’t expect to feel home sick whenever I was standing in London, but this place looked too much like “le passage Véro Dodat” or “La galerie de la Madeleine”. There were beautiful art galeries, shops and café. It’s really close to Oxford Circus and Picadilly, so it’s a great place to escape from all the noise and crowd coming along Regent Street.
So here I was, looking at Author’s beautiful and colorful shoes (to die for !). It’s really irregular-choice-annabel-winship kind of style, so I like it. Really british, extravagant, definitely not french. A really good start for me to get rid of all my Parisian sad clothes. So Here’s their website, so you can check-up online all their fashionable shoes. And just because I am really nice I give you the adress of their blog here.
I’m not done yet. I have to show you two other places. The first one is “The rest is noise”, in Brixton.
And finally, I wanted to talk about “That place on the corner” which is a place on the corner (no kidding) in GreenLane, North London. A great place to go with your children and actually (god bless that place in the corner) have fun ! Because, you know, who ever had fun in Nando’s or KFC with the kids ? No one. Absolutely. So here’s a place built, designed, created (all that) to eat, drink, talk, laugh when you are a trendy, hedgy, top mother (or dad). Plus, It’s nothing like Cafézoide or La poussette café in Paris. It’s not dull or shallow, their activities are interesting even for grown ups.
P.S : And Soon I will go back to my beloved D.I.Y articles. Stay tuned !
