I am not my hair !
My natural hair is curly like most of black women. So far we agree. So when you say my hair are “crazy”, My captain crunch cereals get stuck in my throat. Would you be saying that black people’s hair in general are some kind of ugly and hysterical ?
Do I have to remind you that straight hair is not my true nature and insult the frizzy hair is to insult the nature of things what god created. When we commonly call “good hair”, straight hair, we automatically qualifies frizzy hair as ugly hair. That ain’t cool. And anyway, what does it mean to have “good hair”? I am not naive, everyone knows that straight hair is the norm. Indeed, people in France don’t think it’s normal to keep your hair curly. Several black friends of mine (or not) advises me systematically to do weaves and straightening … Why wouldn’t I just keep them natural ? Why is it so strange to have an Afro ?
I do not claim anything behing my afro … So why do you call me Black Panthers in the streets ? Certainly, some people are as narrow-minded as an FN supporter.
Ok sometimes frizzy black hair are really difficult to comb
But I like my frizzy hair better than this “Barbie on vacation in Djibouti looks”. Frankly … it’s too ugly.

Hi,
I jumped from the udly sally to the sally revue !
I hope that my english no sucks too much
I had a carribean friend and i said once that “if i was a black girl I would keep an afro it’s so beautiful” and she looks at me with big eyes like I was a crazy people and she said nothing but it was soooooooooo explicit ! I was shocked. To me I said nothing totally crazy…
I am of Algerian origin and i saw the same thing in Algeria. I saw some girls put white make up to appear more “clear” they looked like clowns, this was not previously very nice and they use a product to clear the skin…
Sorry if my English is weird
